Hi Candace,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Val Saint Lambert (often abbreviated Val St Lambert) is a highly regarded Belgian glass manufacturer with a long history; It was founded in 1826 in Seraing, near Liège, Belgium, by Adolphe Wertheimer. He was later joined by François Kemlin and Auguste Leman (the L in the Val St Lambert name is from Leman).
The company became one of the premier European glassmakers in the 19th and 20th centuries, known for fine crystal, high-quality decorative pieces, and innovation in glassmaking techniques; additionally, they often supplied glassware to European royalty and aristocracy.
This is more aptly called a "centerpiece vase" as the shape made it conducive to large displays of fruit or other items, as well as flowers.
Colored VSL pieces usually bring a bit more than clear VSL ones but this would likely sell in the $300-600 range if offered at auction.
