This is a vintage, late 19th century, Victorian era English bone china vase with transferprinted and colored roses against mostly white ground and some gilding by Spode Imp'l China. The English Registry mark numbers indicate this was produced in 1888. The hand executed numbers correlate to the mold form 'pattern' name. The letter L in script is the initial of the studio decorator responsible for adding the transferprint design and gilding. The vase was produced for the store of purveyor, Thomas Goode & Co in London, established 1827. Although the gold is real, there is no longer a precious metal meltdown value as the cost to extract the gold would exceed the value of the amount extracted. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
