The technique of painting glass surfaces with colorful enamels and then firing them at high temperatures to fuse the decoration permanently was developed in the 15th and 16th centuries. Such stemware elevates a monochromatic tablescape and collectors are usually willing to pay between $20-25 per piece for unattributed sets, as in yours.

Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A vintage 17-piece set of Venetian enameled and parcel gilt stemware
possibly made in Murano, Venice, Italy, mid 20th Century
Comprising:
(6) red wines (19cm H x 7.5cm dia);
(6) champagne coupes (13.5 cm H x 8.5cm (dia), and
(5) white wines (18cm H x 6.9cm dia)
CONDITION: These are reported to be in very good condition, with no cracks or chips and no fading of gilt rims
PROVENANCE: Acquired at auction
