This is a small, bronze statue acquired in January, 1991 in Caracas, Venezuela. It was a gift from a Venezuelan government minister to a high-ranking United States government official. It has been carefully stored in a temperature controlled-environment for the past 34 years. It is pristine. I do not know the artist, I have been unable to decipher the engravings on the base of the statue. I would like to know who the artist is.

Hello, this item is a small cast bronze figure with a stylized seated body and an oxidized surface that developed a green patina over time. The form shows irregular modeling, rounded volumes, and simplified anatomy. These traits match late twentieth century workshop production rather than a named sculptor with a defined signature style. The inscription visible on the leg appears decorative rather than a readable artist signature. The underside and internal casting cavity confirm sand casting typical of small studio production in Latin America during the 1980s and 1990s.
This item fits within the category of decorative bronze sculpture produced for diplomatic gifts and protocol exchanges in Venezuela during that period. These works carry modest market value unless tied to a documented artist. With no identifiable signature and no link to a known sculptor, the market estimate falls in the range of 150 to 250 USD. Pieces with clearer authorship and cleaner casting can reach higher values, but this example sits in the general decorative bracket.
