It is porcelain that stands nearly 16'' tall and has a 26" circumference at the widest point. It is predominantly blue with what appeared to be lotus blossoms and other flowers in the colors of pink, yellow, and orange. Of course there are green leaves to accompany these flower blossoms. Around the bottom there is a border that is pink yellow and baby blue but I can't quite describe the design. Around the top before the lid there is another border that is baby blue with more pink blossoms and yellow and pink petals appear to be coming off of these flower blossoms. On the lid, around the edge is a border that almost represents the Greek keys with a background color of pink and the designs are light blue and yellow. The rest of the lid resembles the rest of the jar being dark blue with yellow, pink and orange flower blossoms. On the bottom is a red stamp unlike any that I've seen before and I could not find one to compare it to. On the inside there is also a Chinese or Japanese symbol painted into the side. This is something I have never seen before and makes this item even more curious to me
