Very unusual fossil shell I found in my yard
05 December 2025
Description

I find lots of oyster/ clam shell type fossils in my yard, ( I live in Austin, TX area so not surprised by this) but none like this one have I found before. I tried to find image to match through Google and found no image matches. Slightly raised spiral with creatures shell opening located on the bottom portion of shell rather than at the side and it has rather tear drop shaped opening rather than rounded.
