Village protecters
10 September 2026
Description

I got these from a collector about 40 years ago. The story was that these two masks came from the granddaughter of a missionary who was in the Congo around in the late 19th century. They were placed at the egresses of the village to ward off evil spirits. The carving on each mask is very unique and precise.

Dimensions

Both masks are 29 inches tall and 10 inches wide.
