What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

The item appraised is a transfer decorated Villeroy & Boch octagonal plate. The mark on the reverse of the plate indicates that it was produced from circa 1880-1910. The numbers below the maker's mark are internal factory identification marks. The plate depicts a fox with a walking stick and hat in hand. This was likely part of a larger series, but I have been unable to find which series. Antique plates by Villeroy & Boch are typically of modest value, since they were mass produced. If you are looking to sell, I would suggest Ebay, as that platform would reach more collectors of vintage plates than at auction.

Kind regards,
Corey
