Hello! I received these chairs as an inheritance from a family member. They are beautiful chairs seemed to be handcrafted. I don’t know much about them maybe some sort of Greek artist made these . Two chairs one seems to be like a captains chair with the arms and the other matches it, but it was made without the arms

These chairs combines the Neoclassical aesthetic with that of the Directoire period, with its clean lines. Individual examples - here with just one armchair and just one side chair - are modestly valued on the market, $200-300 for the side chair and $250-350 for the armchair.

Two Directoire Neoclassical style parcel gilt and inlaid mahogany chairs
In the French taste, late 19th Century
Comprising one armchair and one side chair, the armchair with boldly carve and gilt acanthus mounts, both with tablet crests with inlaid figural decoration over an entwined back, each with shield-shaped slip seat and inlaid front seat rails, on tapered legs.
Each approximately 36 inches overall height; width between 18 and 24 inches.
CONDITION: Both chairs appear to be in generally good condition
