Vintage Japanese Vase
This vase stands 18 1/2 inches H, and is approximately 9 inches W. The weight of this item is approximately 6lbs. It is made of ceramic. Large flowers outlined in gold covers the front with smaller flowers trimmed in gold on the back. There is a Foo dog on either side of the vase below the rim. Symbols are on the bottom.

Your vase is made in Japan around 1900 / 1920 and is called Satsuma. Its earthenware ( there are also porcelain versions ) and made in the province Satsuma in Japan. The painting on the vases is the most important part of this type of pottery, The more details you see, finely painted, the more expensive these vases are in general. This vase is quite fast painted with thick brushstrokes. It means the price will be a little lower. The vase is quite big and that add to the price. These vases can be sold in auction house in your neighborhood. If the auction house has a prescription to an online platform like invaluable or live auctioneers this has a better chance of getting the right audience and price.
