This plate is in near mint condition. Front is perfect however back has a small piece of clay that is missing. Picture shows damage. Platter shows Vietri stamp on the back with the word Italy written in black. I have taken pictures of all notings. I contacted the Vietri company and they tell me this pattern is an old pattern that is no longer in production. They said they had no information as to when it was in production. Stated that it was like the Buon Guiorno line but that it was not that line for sure. The wire shown is the wire that was there when I purchased the plate I did not want to remove it. I have looked everywhere I can look. Hoping to have some luck with you.
I purchased the item at a Goodwill store in San Antonio, Tx.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an italian hand painted majolica platter, imported by Vietri incorporated. The company is one of the larger importers of Italian handcrafted products, they do not produce themselves. Judging from the attached transparent plastic label, execution and numbering I would assume it was produced by Bitossi in the 1990s for Vietri. The design is very much traditional. A still life of fruits, melon and grapes is a very common design, perfect wall decoration for any italian restaurant. The estimate is based on similar large majolica platters offered or sold at auction.
