The "W & A Bertram” mark is used on porcelain figurines produced by Wagner & Apel, a porcelain manufacturer founded in 1877 in Lippelsdorf in the Thuringian Forest, Germany. The figurines were a series of figurines often depicting children, boys and girls in traditional or whimsical scenes.
Birks (Henry Birks & Sons) is a Canadian luxury jewelry and silver retailer, founded in Montreal in 1879. Historically, Birks operated large multi-level flagship stores with watch salons, silver galleries, and giftware departments. The label on the bottom indicates that this was retailed at Birks at one time.
MOST W&A Bertram figurines that sell at auction bring little to no money - usually less than $25, even if in very good condition.
