Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a late Qing Dynasty soapstone spill vase, cut from a piece of soft grey soapstone. In contrast to the very hard jadeite the very common soapstone is much softer and very easy to work with. The white scratches on the surface are very typical for this material. Spill vases like this one are a common sight at auctions. The estimate is based on near identical items actually sold at auction. Retail prices are usually higher and can vary. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the item.
