Decorative flatware set in box that is 18in x 12 in
It was a gift from someone I no longer have contact with
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a mid century modern large flatware set in presentation box, "90" silverplated, which means with 90 grams of silver on a surface size of 24 dm² ( surface equivalent of 12 large forks and spoons), manufactured by WMF Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik in the 1960s. This line was called "Sevilla" and was very popular at the time. The quality is unsurpassed and due to this fact many of these flatware sets have survived until today. The estimate is based on auction results for similar. If sold separately over a long period of time the result would be near the high estimate.
Thank you so much for the information it helps alot. My only question is about the size of the set you mentioned. You mentioned 12 spoons and 12 forks. I have quite a bit more than that. I have 12 tablespoons 8 forks 10 butter knives 10 dessert? Spoons 8 fish fork 1 soup spoon 1 large serving/ cake knife and 1 large ladle. Was this considered in my appraisal?
