Dear Thomas,
Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The apprised object is a glass painting made in the 18th century or early 19th century. It depicts a young woman with a white haze. The portrait is framed by a tondo and flowers. Under the portrait, we can read S.Bosala or Besala. Many glass paintings depict saints but a saint with the name Bosala or Besala is unknown to me. So this painting could be meant as a portrait of a bride and is probably one piece of a pair and the portrait of the husband is lost. This explanation could fit with the haze. Glass paintings are common in the area around the Alps.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between100 to 300 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
I have attached three new images of the Woman in the Circle. More claritry and detailed, as you requested.
