Hello, this item is a group of four Japanese woodblock prints after the works of Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858), published by Uchida Art Co. Ltd. of Kyoto. These are posthumous reprints, likely from the mid-20th century, faithfully reproducing Hiroshige’s original Tokaido series designs. The prints depict iconic travel scenes and landscapes from the Edo period, rendered in vibrant colors with well-balanced registration and clear line work. Each print measures approximately 8 5/8 x 6 5/8 inches and remains preserved in its original Uchida paper wrapping, accompanied by descriptive inserts identifying the artist and studio, confirming their authenticity as official authorized reprints.
These editions were produced using traditional woodblock techniques on handmade paper and remain collectible for their craftsmanship and fidelity to the originals. While not from Hiroshige’s 19th-century lifetime editions, such authorized postwar reprints are respected among collectors for educational and decorative value. The complete set of four in fine condition, with original packaging and inserts, holds a current market value between 400 and 600 USD.
