This is a German-made Kar 98 bolt-action rifle from WWII. It comes with a bayonet that can attach to the end of the rifle. It was manufactured in the 1940's, and is in good condition.
43.7" long
Dear Robert,
Thank you for your help and patience.
The presented object appears to be an Imperial Japanese Arisaka Type 99 bolt action rifle with a bayonet. This rifle was the standard equipment of the Imperial Japanese Army during WWII. This rifle probably came as a trophy after WWII to the US.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 700 to 1.200 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Gregory
I've added a few more images. It looks like this is actually a Japanese rifle- I completely missed the writing on the butt of the rifle. Let me know if you need any additional pictures.
