12’x8.5’ Persian Rug 50+ years old
12 feet by 8.5 feet. Material very much seems to be wool. 120 knots per square inch. Is at least 50 years old. Most likely it’s well over 60 years old.
Inherited from my grandfather. He most likely inherited it from his mother. I doubt it’s ever been exhibited.

If its handmade there may be a small discreetly placed Arabic inscription on the front somewhere. If you see that can you take a picture?
I’ve looked there’s no Arabic inscription unfortunately.
The pattern is rather unusual; is it OK if I forward a photograph of the overall carpet to a rug/carpet expert for their opinion? It might take some additional time but I'd rather be correct in my attribution and assessment. Let me know...

yes, the expert has confirmed that identification, and they say the age is 1900-1925, so first quarter 20th Century
At auction, this would have an estimate of $800-1,200.
