1911 Doll made in Germany. She has a stamp on the back of her head 585 14 Germany. She has painted eyes with real eyelashes. Moveable arms and legs.
This was my grandmothers doll. She was born in 1905 and was given the doll when she was 6, which would be 1911
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful antique porcelain. Such antique toys are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The doll was made by the German doll company Baehr and Proschild around 1900. From the photos the doll appears to be in good condition however the main part is the head that has to be intact without any chips, hairlines or cracks. This decreases the value immensely. The baby body is made of papermach and composition and also appears to be in good condition.
Today there are not that many doll collectors however it is a nice well kept doll that
would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online antique toys auction, where I believe the doll has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the doll. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
