Hi Heidi,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
While this is a nice doll of good (but not premium) size and made in Germany or the US, the condition is poor and that affects its value significantly. Had this been in good condition, it worth $150-250 (a value that includes the clothing, though some of it is later) but with a detached head, sleeping eyes that no longer work and a deteriorating foot, it is worth about $50. I don't see any photos of the body but it could be lambskin, though calfskin was a bit more commonly used. The "H 7 1/2" is possibly that of Heinrich Handwerck (Germany) or Edward Imeson Horsman (US).
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique bisque-head doll
American or German, first quarter of the 20th Century (1900-1925)
back of the head marked "H 7 1/2"
