This is an antique, early 20th century tea wagon, or tea cart that was produced in Grand Rapids, Michigan by the Paalman Furniture Company. The business was founded John H. Paalman in 1916 and was active until 1966. Prior to founding his own company, Paalman was employed as a manager and designer at Stickley. Your teacart would date to the earliest periods of the company. It is made with quarter-sawn oak which was a design mainstay at Stickley for their Arts & Crafts Period, Mission era styled furniture. Paalman Company soon became one of the best known makers for teacarts.
