Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful doll. Such dolls are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
Your doll was made around 1980 by a modern doll maker specializing in making dolls in the old fashioned manner. The doll is a copy of an 1870s French Bru doll. These copy dolls are in very good quality with many of the original details. The clothes are also copies of antique doll clothing. However this type of doll is not as valuable as if the doll had been an original antique French Bru doll. Today these dolls are decorative and collectors items however the value of these mass produced porcelain dolls rarely have value beyond their purchase price even when kept in excellent shape.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online toys auction, where I believe the doll has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the sweet doll. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
