This lamp was gifted to is about 15 years ago by a very generous and wealthy family. It was an heirloom passed down to her from her grandmother but the husband hated it therefore never got a spot in the house where it could be appreciated. Unfortunately, we did not write down the details but she explained her grandmother paid a NYC artist $6k to custom make this piece for her, back then. She told us to not ever sell it unless we are in need of a new roof replacement or something big like that as it was already very valuable and one of a kind piece. I have searched online for years to find a similar piece out there and compare or find the name of the artist without any luck. I would love to know more about it. The gold on it isn’t paint, looks to be like a film? Also the bulb cover is a very heavy kind of frosted glass or crystal? Nonetheless, this piece is absolutely stunning and it looks incredible when it’s lit up.
