Description
Purchased in eastern Afghanistan. Newer rug. Bazaar vender creates design and has weaver in the north who make the rugs. It appears to have a cotton thread base and will hand tied knots. The size is 3'9" by 6"4".

It is handwoven in a flatweave method out of dyed wool, and it is in good condition. The design on the field of the rug includes a Yildiz or star, which symbolizes happiness. Based on recent price realizations for rugs similar to yours, in age, style, and design, a fair market estimate would be between 200 and 500 US dollars.
