My mother who passed away 6 years ago made this amber necklace for her own personal use. She said it was butterscotch amber. The smaller beads are chunk amber. The findings I believe are brass. I believe she made the necklace in the 1980s -- she made and sold jewelry from antique and rare beads and some of her work was carried in galleries in New Mexico and Japan. Her name was Rose Hensley. The necklace is 16 inches long, doubled (total length if unclasped and laid straight is 32 inches. It weighs about 11 ounces. I also have three of the large beads loose that she did not use in the design.
