Beautiful antique painting of an Elligers girl signed lower right M Elligers. There is an old label verso written in old Norwegian and transcribes as follows: Iver Jørgen Elligers residing at the family’s before Tønsberg Born: 1753 Deceased: 1818 married twice 1st time with Anne Ingerine Bugge 2nd time 1789 with Cathrine Elsie Gether who was mum to Carl Fredrik Elligers who was born 1790 – This picture has been acquired by him Cathrine son’s daughter Margrethe Elligers The picture of the label has been enhanced to be able to read the letter better. The actual label can be seen on the top stretcher verso pic. It is currently out of the frame, but has a beautiful antique wooden frame. The picture of that is photo shopped for viewing before i get it back from the conservator.
