Double barrel with hammers and under leather. Hunting scenes on side of gun.
It was my Aunt’s grandfather’s fun.
Dear Lonnie,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal.
The presented object appears to be a double-barrel SxS shotgun made by an unknown producer. Sadly no producer engraving or stamp is visible and no proof stamps to identify the country or city this shotgun was made. The lock, the construction, and the engraving suggest a date in the late 19th or early 20th century.
This piece is in bad condition and there is for example serious corrosion damage visible in the images provided. The functionality of the shotgun is also questionable. It would be difficult to sell this shotgun on the auction market.
A fair market estimation would be between 0 to 60 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
