This is a file cabinet in red lacquer with gold floral motifs. It looks like it is from China. Based on the style, type of piece and condition, it was probably made in the 20th century. Traditionally, the knobs for these types of cabinets are usually brass, so this is another clue that it was made more recently. Asian decorated wooden furniture doesn’t fetch especially high prices; this may change in the future because the craftsmanship seems undervalued.
