This is an Asian mother sitting on the floor, nursing an infant. She has one knee bent. She is some sort of polished stone, and is quite heavy for her size.
5" long 8.5" tall 3" wide She weighs 2 pounds 2.3 ounces
I acquired her on eBay about 20 years ago and don't know her history. :-(
Hello again, Anne.
This remarkable sculpture is a general representation of motherhood coming from different regions of Asia, which is why it does not solely depict one style but combines different asian styles within one statue. Judging from the style, these types of statues were made in mid-late 20th century, mass produced for tourists to have a piece of Asian culture.
Very good condition, polished stone.
Hello! I'm very glad for that. I'm at your disposal. There must have been an error with the system, as it happened in your other object as well. The insurance value is 1500 $
Hello, David! Thank you! And my goodness you have such a great knowledge of these things, I'm so very glad that I came to your service! As with the winged mermaid statue, I'm confused by the FMV being $500-$1000, but no insurance value. OR, is it that a different appraiser assigns the insurance value so I've just looked at this before an insurance value was assigned? Thank you again! Anne
