Ashtrays typically have notches in the sides of the rim where cigarettes and cigars can rest; the lack of those on this - and it's large 7-1/2-inch size - suggest it may have been intended for other uses as well

Hollow-molded, in the form of a tuxedo-wearing Black man holding a circular dished brass tray. Unmarked.
33-1/8 inches high overall; brass tray 7 1/2 inches diameter
CONDITION: appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: inherited
