Two panels loomed individually and hand stitched together. Two bad spots shown individually.
May be listed in the book "America's Quilts and Coverlets" by Carleton L. Safford and Robert Bishop.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an american two panel coverlet of typical design. The indigo blue beautifully contrast to the white, the pine tree border is a common characteristic. There is no indication to the origin or date, but mid 19th century should be correct. Auction results for coverlets are sometimes surprisingly low, the estimate is based on auction results for comparables. "Asking prices" in the trade can be much higher and vary. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to it.
