This bronze statue with brown patina from the 19th century represents Buddha sitting in Bhumisparsa mùdra. The provenance of the piece is Mandalay, Birma. The Buddha's Birma is sitting cross-legged and one hand rests on one leg while the other hand is suspended in front of the abdomen. This Buddha wears a garment whose drapery makes volutes on the chest, leaving one shoulder exposed.
