Greetings and good morning, my apologies for not completing your evaluation sooner for your wonderful, vintage Buffet (aka sideboard) by Milling Road for Baker Furniture; one fabulous line of furniture that Baker consideres their creme-de-la-creme!
Pieces similar to your in-law's are sold at auction a couple of times annually throughout the country and on the worst of days see $400USD and on the best of days $600USD. In a retail setting you will see similar sideboards with gallery prices of $2000USD and above; these prices are subjective and are dependent upon market interest and fluctuations and the dealers clientele.

Stylistically, I'm inclined to place this piece circa 1960s, I'd expect that your in-laws purchased it new.
