What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Based on the photographs and description provided, the subject of this appraisal is a C.H. Bohm mandolin with accompanying hard-case. Bohm was founded in 1897. This particular mandolin is estimated to have been manufactured in the 1910s as it matches later Bohm labels found on models of that era.

The condition of the piece is original unrestored condition. There are numerous scratches on the mandolin, with considerable wear on the neck, headstock, and back. Were the piece fully restored, the value would be expected to be approximately $500 based on recent sales of restored models of this Bohm mandolin. In consideration of the factors noted, a Fair Market Value (pre-auction estimate) of this piece would be estimated at $250 to $350.
