What does this mean?

The appraised work is a copy of Camera Work: A Photographic Quarterly, Issue 47, edited and published by Alfred Stieglitz in 1914. Stieglitz was a founding member of the Photo-Secession and a major force in the promotion of photography as a fine art form in the United States at the turn of the 20th century. Issue 14 of Camera Work was considered a special edition with 27 copies printed and includes a series of responses to the prompt “What is 291?,” referencing Stieglitz’s art gallery in Manhattan, which operated from 1905-1917. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction. In many cases, pricing for similar examples available on the primary (retail) market vary, and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
