Hi Blanca,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Where many lamps have shades that are not part of the overall design of the lamp, these two lamps - with distinctive capiz shell seed-like globes - are integral to the lamps, which have a very organic look and feel to them.
I have not found others to identify a maker and are assuming they are not signed or labeled (if they are please let me know sooner than later so I can make a more informed valuation).
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
Two organic style capiz shell and fiber lamps
unattributed maker, second half 20th Century
One a floor lamp, the other a table lamp, each with sinuous twisting base comprised of fibre over a metallic frame, terminating in an elongated turtleback tile Capiz shell shade. Unmarked.
70 cm (27-1/2 inches) high and 170 cm (67 inches) high
CONDITION: Client reports these lamps appear to be in good condition with some minor repairs and cleaning needed.
PROVENANCE: Acquired in a second-hand store.
$ 700-1,000 for the pair*
