24x18" Two holes in each side of the frame
Painting that had been in the family for many years but know nothing more about it.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a 20th century landscape painting depicting a shepherd and his flock of sheep. The painting very much follows the style of Anton Mauve. It would be fair to assume that the artist who signed his name lower left with "Claude Mose" must have seen dutch paintings or was influenced by the Hague School of paintings. Unfortunately the artist is not listed. It might have been a very talented amateur artist who was active most likely in the first half of the 20th century. The ornate frame appears to be rather modern. The estimate is based on similar paintings by lesser known artist offered or sold at auction.
