I believe these are silver plated column table lamps. These lamps were found in a fully furnished home we purchased. The lamps are 26 inches tall and five inches wide. There is felt on the bottom of the bases so no markings can be read.
Hi Shelly,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Converting oil lamps into electric table lamps was a popular way to preserve antique aesthetics while making them more functional and safe for modern use. This process allowed owners to enjoy the vintage charm of an oil lamp without the hassle of using oil and open flames.
Antique or vintage oil lamps with a glass, metal, or ceramic base worked well for conversion and the glass element on these lamps would have been receptacles for lamp oil. The pierced element and turn-key feature above it would have originally been fitted with a glass globe or shade in which the flame appeared / could have been adjusted; those have been replaced with light sockets and the lamps have been rewired for electric use.
There are a good number of converted oil lamps on the market; pairs are always more desirable than singles and the columnar form with octagonal base is a very nice feature. While I've not found any EXACT matches, comparably sized lamps of similar form sell at auction for about $500-700; you might expect to find these priced quite a bit higher in a retail setting if they were polished up a bit and fitted with shades, etc.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
