I need an appraisal for this china cabinet that we purchased in the late 60’s from Taiwan. It was damaged because of a leak in our upstairs. Please appraise this as if the damage had never occurred. My insurance company needs the value of the cabinet (before the damage) so they can replace it. The dimensions are: Bottom 72x32x18 inches top 70x 49x15 inches. This is made of solid wood. The two middle drawers are not missing... they were wet and place to the side... they are similar to the one drawer that is still in place.
Purchased it from a shop in Taiwan. (I think)
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be just what you sugggested, a modern china cabinet, circa. 1970s, manufactured in Asia according to the taste of that era, with two decorative "Shou" (longevity) characters on the two lower doors, with drop brass handles and pulls. The estimate is based on similar sold or offered at auctions. An insurance value would be double the high estimate.
