This is NOT an antique, but you do not have a category for modern furniture. This table was purchased at Pottery Barn. It is a Benchwright Extending Dining Table. DIMENSIONS: 74l x 38w x 30h. WEIGHT: 110 lbs.
We are a moving company. This table has nicks and scratched on it that allegedly happened while moving it from their old house to their new house.
This is a fairly contemporary furniture piece being the Benchwright 74" extending dining table that is currently still sold through Pottery Barn. The 74" Benchwright table which extends to 104" retails for $1999 and this can re-sell for $800 used. In general, a used table would have some nicks and normal wear and tear from use over time. A used table, with comparable nicks and scratches would sell for around $800 on today's market whereas brand new the retail cost was $1999. From original retail to used and nicked condition, the difference is $1199.
You provided an appraisal for the plank table, without reference to any damage (that is, we wanted an appraisal for the table as if there were no damage). The legs got scratched during the move. We would like to pay for, and get, an appraisal for the table with scratched legs, so that we have 1 appraisal for the table with no damage, and 1 appraisal for the table with damage. (We owe the customer the difference between the 2 values).
Thank you for your help.
