Brown haired doll with painted face . Hard like porcelain but is cork board under the porcelain. Arms are porcelain hard material all the way up; the legs are porcelain just to where a knee would be and painted black high heels. The last picture of just the dress is the original dress she wore my great grandmother made the dress she has on now
It was my great great grandmothers and she gave it to my nanny and my nanny remembers it as a kid and she said her grandmother had it before my grandmother was born which was in 1946
Dear Reva,
Thank you for your patience and my sincere apologies for the delay with the appraisal. Somehow you received an empty message.
The presented object appears to be a doll with unknown measurements. This doll was made out of a cork body. The cork is covered with a celluloid or paper mâché covering which is painted. It was probably made in the first half of the 20th century by an unknown manufacturer. The blue clothing is a later addition the dress on the first image could be indeed the original dress.
This piece is in medium condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 20 to 60 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
