Dear Amanda,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal
The presented object appears to be a German percussion lock side by side double-barrel shotgun. This shotgun was made by the German gunsmith Christian Sturm (1864-1871) who worked in Suhl a city that is still famous for its rifle production. The barrel is marked Chr. Sturm a Suhl. This rifle was probably made around 1860 or 1870.
This piece is in bad condition and there is a corrosion damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 200 to 500 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
