Dear Jennifer,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images of the back of the shoulderplate.

Thanks

Ok thank you. I just checked and saw that you can message in here. Thank you for your assistance. I will do the additional images tonight when I am home. I read on your site that I can email for pricing if I have a lot of dolls? I wanted to inquire about that, as I have quite a few really old composition dolls with painted eyes and no markings that I cannot find to save my life.

Also, do you appraise other items as well? I have China from japan etc that I also cannot find.

Thanks

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a very sweet doll.
However after having examined the photos very carefully we have come to the conclusion that it is not an antique bisque headed doll.
The way the face has been painted in particular the way the eyelashes have been painted are not the way it would have been painted on an antique doll. The same goes for the hands/underarms and body which is also of a newer date. It was very popular in the 1990s to make bisqueheaded dolls of this type as souvenirs. The dolls are very well made and often with elaborate clothes and accessories. However they do not represent a value on the antique doll market today.

The sentimental value it represents to you will be much higher than the market value.
I am very sorry for the unfortunate news.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
