H. Hargrove, born Nicolo Sturiano in Marsala, Italy, in 1941, is a renowned American artist celebrated for his nostalgic Americana-themed paintings. Initially trained in wine chemistry, he immigrated to the United States in 1964 and worked at a winery in upstate New York. His artistic journey began when he started painting local scenes, which quickly gained popularity and he painted under the pseudonym "H. Hargrove."
Hargrove's artwork is characterized by its warm, detailed depictions of rural life, including barns, covered bridges, and small-town Americana. His paintings often evoke a sense of nostalgia, capturing the essence of simpler times. He has produced over 100 limited edition pieces, and his works are available in various formats, including original oils and serigraphs.
