My dad purchased the tapestry for 50 pounds in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1974 in a little antique shop and carried it throughout Europe and shipped it back to the US from Bath, England. It was estimated that the restoration would be $20K from a curator at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in the 70's. It has not been restored. It is made of silk and has a bamboo pole it hangs on. The embroidery is in great condition and the surrounding area of the embroidery is in need of restoration.
