Thank you for your appraisal submission. The work is a Folk art style acrylic painting on canvas by an unknown artist. It depicts a pointilist-like village scene with a church amongst mountains and two figures in the foreground. The work is signed "A Richel" or "A. Pichel" to the lower left corner. We found another listing of a work by the same artist without any known biographical information. The images provided are not of a good enough quality to provide a comprehensive condition report. The work is likely of the late 20th century, and should not have significant aging condition issues. The work measures 27 x 23 inches.
Without an artistic attribution, the Fair Market Value of this work is estimated based on sales records of other folk art style works by unknown artists. Folk art has a strong buyer demand with many known and sought out artists achieving sales prices comparable to academic masters. Meanwhile, Folk Art works by unknown artists sell primarily based on quality of composition at significantly lower prices. Based on these records, we estimate the FMV of this work between $200 and $500.
This report is conditional based on the medium and condition which could not be confidently identified by the photographs provided.
Thank you again for your submission.
Kind regards,
