Considering the photographs, overall pattern, knot density and the colours, I concluded that this is a Hand Made Thai Temple Rubbing. Temple Rubbings re a highly sought after art form originated in Thailand. The piece likely dates back to the period between 1940-1970. It is made with blue colour and made on a thin paper, what we can refer as a Thai rice paper. The piece depicts a classical Thai dancer figure from temple scenes at the Wat Pho temple located in Phra Nakhon district in Bangkok Thailand depicting the Thai literary story of Ramakien, the Thai adaptation of Ramayana. It appears to have a wooden custom made frame with segments. A sort of bamboo decoration was created with the frame. This dancer figure on the rubbing usually visualized as a pair of dancers by the artists in classical style but in this piece the dancer was depicted alone. The quality seems over average for a temple rubbing from this period. We can not identify any maker's or artist's mark on the piece. The piece is in good condition without any visible problems.
