The bronze is signed J.E. Fraser and numbered 982. Signature in back left corner (near left rear foot of Horse) It is mounted to a marble base, and measures approximately 22 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 18 inches tall. Not sure how to gauge condition but it looks to be in Better than Average??

Hi Mike,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This popular sculpture has been reproduced multiple times, even after the artist's death in 1953 but authorized (and more valuable) castings were all done at the Roman Bronze Works in NYC, and would have the foundry mark if they were, either a circular mark with the letters NY surrounded by the words "Roman Bronze Foundry"...or spelled out in a single line.
The #982 isn't coming up with anything conclusive to me, suggesting this might not be quite as valuable as it might be (though not without SOME value).
I'm sure you've looked so maybe you can quickly confirm if your sculpture has the Roman Bronze Foundry mark?
Thanks,
Delia
