Hi Michelle,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique Chinese black lacquered and japanned elm cabinet
late 19th/early 20th Century
Of square form and rectangular section, the cabinet inclosing three false (I can't tell if that's a drawer, I don't see pulls) short drawers over a pair of hinged cupboard doors (can't tell if there are shelves inside), over three short drawers all on a box base. Paneled sides,
37 inches high by 37 inches wide by 23 inches deep
CONDITION: with wear and losses to japanning but otherwise appears to be in generally good antique condition with wear commensurate to age and use.
PROVENANCE: inherited
$600-900*

I don't see an appraisal that is complete
Michelle,
I'm just seeing your emails (I'm on the West Coast of the US, so your emails came in while I was asleep).
I still need to see a clear photo that shows the chest in its entirety for enough of a distance away that I can get a sense of the scale. To give you an idea of the kind of photos I need to see, please check out this link (https://mearto.com/specialist/items/korean-chest-2xk).
I'll do your appraisal as soon as possible after seeing a clear overall photo.
Thanks,
Delia
