Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a lovely vintage doll. Such vintage collectors dolls are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
Your doll is a Gorham Benjamin Playmates Doll with windup. It appears to be in good condition. The body is made of cloth and the lower limbs and head is made of porcelain. It is a doll that was very popular in the last part of the 1900s and early part of the 2000s however it is a mass produced doll that was made in a large number. The value of your doll is determined by the company that made it and how many dolls were made from each lot. Normally companies like Gorham Benjamin would produce dolls in lots of 1000 and upwards. Today these types of collectors porcelain dolls rarely have value beyond their purchase price even when kept in excellent shape, with original boxes and labels/tags, and unfortunately the market value for such dolls has declined in the past few years.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online vintage toys auction, where I believe the doll has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the Gorham Benjamin windup doll. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
